Access to information

The Act respecting access to documents held by public bodies and the protection of personal information applies to all public bodies, including the Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services. This law guarantees fundamental rights to the population, such as the right to information and the right to privacy.

Any request for access or rectification must be addressed to the person responsible for access to information and protection of personal information. The latter is obliged to assist any person who requests his or her help in formulating a request and/or identifying the document sought.

Please note that any request for access to information may be subject to a fee (A-2.1, r. 3 - Règlement sur les frais exigibles pour la transcription, la reproduction et la transmission de documents et de renseignements personnels).

Requests for access to administrative documents

An administrative document is any non-clinical document held by a public body in the performance of its duties. Examples include minutes, studies, policies, financial statements and contracts.

The request may be made verbally or in writing. However, only a written request may be filed with the Commission d'accès à l'information if the person in charge refuses access or if the 20-day time limit is exceeded.

Requests for access to and rectification of personal information

The Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services recognizes that individuals have the right to know whether it holds personal information about them, to see this information, to obtain a copy of this information, and to request rectification of any incorrect or incomplete information. Such requests must be made in writing.

For information purposes, personal information is any information that directly or indirectly identifies a natural person.
