November is Caregiver Appreciation Month in Nunavik!
This annual initiative honors the extraordinary dedication of caregivers across Nunavik. These compassionate community members play a vital role in enhancing the well-being of those they support, providing essential care and assistance to individuals living with limitations or disabilities.
Since its inception in 2022, the Caregiver Appreciation Campaign has celebrated the invaluable contributions of both natural and worker-caregivers. What began as a weeklong initiative has now expanded to a month-long celebration, reflecting the importance of this cause.
2024 Campaign Highlights:
- Star Caregiver Initiative:
Community members are invited to nominate caregivers who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and impact.
Two ways to nominate:
- Nominations can be submitted via the online form here.
- Participants can also send submission by filling the paper form and emailing it to Audrey Hachey (RRSSSN): audrey.hachey.rr17@ssss.gouv.qc.ca by November 29st, 2024.
- Recognition and Prizes:
As part of Caregiver Appreciation Month, outstanding caregivers will be recognized and rewarded with various prizes. These include Co-op gift vouchers, free rent vouchers provided by the Nunavik Housing Bureau (NHB), and round-trip plane tickets from Air Inuit.
- Post cards
The NRBHSS wants to ensure that everyone can easily access information about the campaign and find simple ways to nominate Star Caregivers. Therefore, we are sending the information directly to all Nunavimmiut addresses.
- Community Events:
Special events will be held in selected communities to celebrate local caregivers and their contributions.
