The infectious-diseases team’s objective is to protect the population against the transmission of pathogenic infectious agents. That task is performed jointly with the two health centres, the 14 CLSCs, the health interveners of the territory and elsewhere, as well as the population.
ECCs and Schools
The early-childhood centres (ECCs) and the schools are two environments highly frequented by young and very young Nunavimmiut. As many infectious agents are found in those environments, it is important to adopt simple and effective measures, such as, for example, handwashing, in order to avoid contracting most infections.
