Scholarship for Beneficiaries
For the 2024–2025 academic year, the Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services is offering scholarships to beneficiary students to support their college or university studies in health and social services. These scholarships can be worth up to $5,000, depending on the student's status.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must be beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement, be enrolled as full-time or part-time students at a college or university and be pursuing a relevant program of study in the field of health and social services in Nunavik.
Required Documents
The required documents must be submitted in order to participate in the Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services scholarship program. They must be submitted before the first scholarship payment is made.
- Digital copy of beneficiary card (front and back)
- Letter of acceptance to the chosen study program and student status
- Letter of motivation explaining your choice of study program relevant to the Nunavik health and social services network
Scholarship Payment Terms
An initial payment will be made upon receipt of the course schedule confirming the student's enrolment and status. The second part of the scholarship will be paid upon receipt of the transcript certifying that at least 80% of the courses taken during the academic year have been successfully completed.
The scholarship amount will be adjusted if the student's status changes during the year. If the student decides to discontinue their studies, payment of the remaining scholarship balance will be cancelled.
Graduates
Support is available to graduates to help them find internships or jobs within Nunavik's health and social services network.
* If there are a large number of applications, scholarships will be awarded by random draw.
Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux Scholarship Programs
The Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux offers scholarships open to all for certain professional and technical jobs in high demand in certain regions of the province. These scholarships are intended to attract and retain skilled workers in key sectors where the need is particularly great.
In the Nunavik region, several fields of study are considered key sectors for ensuring the continuity and quality of care provided to Inuit. The following fields are essential to meeting Nunavik's specific health and social services needs:
- Pharmacotherapy
- Medical Device Reprocessing Attendant
- Pharmacy Technology
- Medical imaging and medical biology laboratory
- Psychotherapy, student segment
- Psychotherapy, professional segment
- Psychology internship
- Midwife
Scholarships for Recruitment in Remote Areas
Nunavik and certain remote areas of Quebec are experiencing difficulties filling professional and technical positions in their health and social services institutions.
In order to promote the recruitment and retention of qualified personnel, the MSSS offers targeted scholarships for students in programs leading to the following jobs:
- Social Workers
- Psychologists
- Psychoeducators
- Criminologists
- Sexologists
- Human Relations Officers
- Occupational Therapists
- Physical Therapists
- Audiologists
- Speech Therapists
- Medical Technologists (medical biology laboratories)
- Technical of Clinical Nurses
