Ullivik means "a place to stay or wait" in Inuktitut.
Ullivik is dedicated to providing culturally appropriate and safe access to free lodging, meals and local transportation to medical appointments with healthcare partners in the Greater Montreal area.
- Beneficiaries have access to a four-storey facility with 87 furnished rooms, including 12 rooms for people with reduced autonomy, equipped with a cafeteria, a country-style dining area, a main lounge with television, Internet services and a chapel.
- The Out-of-Region Services Committee, chaired by the Out-of-Region Services Director and made up of executives from the health centers and the RRSSSN, makes recommendations to improve services to reflect the needs of facilities and patients who travel south for health reasons.
- The Out-of-Region Services department is accountable to the Ministère de la santé et des services sociaux du Québec for Ullivik, and through this representation contributes to the provision of adequate services.
